The Barbarians is an invitational rugby team, which brings together players from clubs around England and Wales.

The Barbarians most recent foray on April 9th, was an entry in the "Sabbath Cup", a veterans tournament for clubs in Hertfordshire. With a motley squad of golden oldies, the baa baas played valiantly and only had to beat Tabard to get into the finals. Druids were 7 - 5 up, but down to 14 men, when one of the more senile players tried to charge down a difficult penalty kick. The kick missed, but the ref moved the ball to a more kickable position and allowed a second attempt. The Tabard player duly obliged. Much beer was drunk - at Druid's expense!!! The ethos behind Druids Barbarians is to promote the rugby community by encouraging players from different clubs to play together, representing the pub in tournaments and on tours. The team colours are a black, red and gold hooped shirt with black shorts. Players wear their own club socks, just like the international Barbarians.
